Donald Trump expanded his growing presidential campaign staff in the South on Tuesday with three new hires in Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.
The billionaire businessman and Republican front-runner named Seth Weathers as Georgia State Director, Darren Morris as Tennessee State Director and Dena Espenscheid as Field Director in Virginia.
Weathers "brings a decade of experience in politics" and will run the campaign's daily operations in Georgia, where
Trump leads by 30 percent in a new poll of primary voters, his campaign said.
"Morris, also a seasoned political operative, has worked on several presidential races and will serve as the State Director of Tennessee for the Trump campaign."
Trump said with the addition of Weathers and Morris, "we continue to build our team around the country and organize in early states.
"We have received great support in Georgia and Tennessee where my message to create jobs, secure our border, strengthen our military and take care of our vets resonates strongly with voters who are ready to Make America Great Again."
Weathers comes from a tech and business background and is the founder of Weathers Corp., which services both corporate and political clients.
He previously served as chairman of The Gwinnett Young Republicans, Georgia GOP State Committee, 7th District Committee for the Georgia GOP, and the Fulton County GOP Executive Committee.
Weathers was previously nominated by Sen. Saxby Chambliss to the U.S. Senate Leadership Summit for Young Professionals in Washington, D.C.
Morris is president of Morris Global Strategies, a public affairs and political consulting firm based in Nashville. For over two decades, Morris has served on political campaigns, corporations and associations across the United States and the European Union.
He began his career in presidential campaigns in 1996, when he served in the press office of Sen. Lamar Alexander, and has held various communications positions for each Republican National Convention.
Espenscheid, who will serve as Field Director for the Trump Campaign in Virginia, has more than 20 years of experience in grassroots organizing, campaign management, public policy, and grassroots lobbying.
Most recently, she taught grassroots advocacy in Florida to tea party activists and 9-12 groups for American Majority, the organizing arm of conservatives. She also built a network of conservative women's clubs in Virginia.
Trump will make next campaign stops in South Carolina on Wednesday and Oklahoma on Friday.
He has maintained his front-runner status by a wide margin in recent polls conducted by NBC News, Zogby Analytics, CNN, and Morning Consult.
