The Democratic National Committee has filed a federal lawsuit to stop its Republican counterpart from engaging in voter intimidation tactics at the polls.

According to CBS News, the DNC's lawsuit would prevent the RNC from breaking a long-standing rule that was first put into place in 1982. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has said on multiple occasions the system is rife with voter fraud.

Trump supporters have vowed to monitor polling stations on Nov. 8 to keep an eye out for fraudulent voting practices.

Trump has called the election "rigged."

"Do you remember what I said, that some of the voting is rigged? OK. Everybody knows. Check out Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis," Trump said this week.

Trump's distrust of the system has gone so far that he refused to say whether he would accept the results of the election when asked during last week's third and final debate.

Meanwhile, a voter group in Indiana said this week thousands of people 110 or older — which means they're likely dead — are still registered to vote.

RNC chairman Reince Priebus said last weekend Trump is right when it comes to having suspicions about voter fraud.
