Democrats have a 10 percentage-point lead over Republicans on the generic House of Representatives ballot, results from a Washington Post-Schar School poll released Friday said.
In the poll:
- 47 percent said they preferred to vote for Democrats in the November midterms.
- 37 percent said they would vote for Republicans.
The poll also shows that more Democrats believe the November midterm elections are important:
- 59 percent of Democrats cited the midterms as extremely important.
- 46 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents believe the midterms are extremely important.
In late June, a similar poll from Politico and Morning Consult also showed Democrats in the lead, by 7 points.
The Washington Post poll was conducted from June 27 to July 2 among 1,473 adults, with a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points, the poll report said.
