The nation's Democrat governors are giving a big boost to President Joe Biden's reelection fundraising efforts, helping him gather a massive war chest of $91 million with a year still remaining before the presidential election.
More than $1 million alone has come from events organized in Illinois by Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and in California, Gov. Gavin Newsom's push for small-dollar amounts has netted more than $39 million for Biden's campaign, according to the Federal Election Commission, according to Bloomberg.
Biden's campaign has raised more than $143 million, including $71 million quoted in recent third-quarter reports, putting him far ahead of the GOP primary field. The campaign's $91 million cash on hand is a record for a Democrat president at this point in the election cycle.
The campaign for former President Donald Trump, the Republican front-runner, brought in $45.5 million last quarter.
Several other governors have also organized events in their states for Biden, including Gov. Kathy Hochul of New York and Ned Lamont of Connecticut.

In addition, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham held an event that raised money in the high six-figure amount, and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has co-hosted an event with the advocacy group Black Economic Alliance and has said he'll hold more events.
A joint fundraising agreement between the Biden campaign, state parties, and the Democratic National Committee is also giving Biden a larger advantage with major donors, as it allows him to accept donations in bigger chunks than his GOP rivals can.
