President Donald Trump's re-election campaign might be "outgunned and outmanned" right now, but Roger Stone has confidence in his longtime friend's political chops.
"Everything depends on this November," Stone said, per The Washington Times. "We are outgunned and outmanned, but I have great confidence in the president's skills as a communicator and as a campaigner."
Stone, who had his 40-month prison sentence for lying to Congress, obstruction, and witness tampering commuted by Trump, offered some unsolicited advice to the president, specifically with regard to debates.
"I hope that he does not agree to the debate schedule as put forward by the presidential commission on debates, which is not appointed by the president, is not a commission, and is not about debates," Stone said, per the Times. "I think the president can command how and when and under what format he debates, and he should use that power to control the dialogue on debates and to control what debates are ultimately heard by the American people."
The Trump campaign had requested the commission to add more debates, but Biden's campaign declined and agreed to the standard three presidential debates.

- Oct. 15: Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, Florida.
- Oct. 22: Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.
The vice presidential debate between Mike Pence and Biden's running mate to be named soon is Oct. 7 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
