David Letterman emerged from retirement to slam Donald Trump, saying he's "repugnant to people."
The Huffington Post reported Letterman admitted Trump won the GOP'S nomination fairy. But the one-time, late-night funnyman said people dislike Trump because "he's despicable . . . and in everybody's school, you hear, 'The great thing about America is anybody can grow up to be president.' Oh, jeez. I guess that might be true."
Letterman's comments came during a wide-ranging interview with Tom Brokaw for NBC News.
But he's not the first celebrity to take aim at the presumptive Republican nominee this week.
Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep performed as the billionaire businessman at a New York city theater gala on Monday.
CNN reported she was unrecognizable as she wore "orange makeup, a wig and an overstuffed suit . . . and Streep's ribbing of Trump isn't her first foray into politics."
Streep delivered a tribute to presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton at the Women in the World summing in 2012.
"If you want a real world leader, and you're really, really lucky, this is what you get," the network quoted Streep.
