President Donald Trump's "resounding victory" in the Supreme Court for his travel ban on several Muslim-majority countries "clears the way" for executive orders and action to protect the border, Rep. Darrell Issa said Tuesday.
In remarks to Fox News, Issa, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said the Trump administration will continue, however, to work to stabilize the refugee crisis in Syria.
"I think [the Supreme Court decision] clears the way for targeted executive orders and executive action to protect our borders both literally and figuratively," Issa said.
"And at the same time, this administration is working very, very hard to stabilize Syria and to deal with terrorism and with the refugee crisis" that is "the largest displacement since World War II of any nation," Issa added.
Issa said he believes President Trump "understands that he has been given back clear resounding victory of his national security authority."
