Sen. Ted Cruz wants a "serious criminal investigation" into Democratic consultant Robert Creamer's numerous trips to the White House.

According to The Daily Caller, Creamer has visited the White House 342 times since 2009, and met with President Barack Obama on 47 of those trips.

A recent video suggested that Creamer, who's married to Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowsky, hired people to attend Republican candidate Donald Trump's campaign rallies and incite violence, according to CNN. The video comes from conservative activist James O'Keefe's Project Veritas Action, which CNN notes has faced criticism for "strategically editing footage to create false accusations about people or groups."

"Wherever Trump and [Mike] Pence are going to be, we have events," Creamer says on the video. "And we have a whole team across the country that does that. Both consultants and people from the Democratic Party and the Democratic Party apparatus and people from the campaign, the Clinton campaign. And my role in the campaign is to manage all that."

Due to the video, Creamer announced that he would be "stepping back" from working with Hillary Clinton's campaign.

"I am unwilling to become a distraction to the important task of electing Hilary Clinton, and defeating Donald Trump in the upcoming election," Creamer said in a statement from CNN. "As a result I have indicated to the Democratic National Committee that I am stepping back from my responsibilities working with the campaign."
