The mainstream media has "done a disservice" to President Donald Trump through its coverage of the Stormy Daniels scandal rather than other news, as the American public cares "zero" about the matter, former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said Tuesday.
"Sean Hannity had the statistics last night on his show, the type of coverage when it came to Monica Lewinsky that came from the mainstream media, the ABC, the NBC, the CBSes of the world, the networks, when the original story came out, had no coverage, and one network had 16 seconds" Lewandowski told Fox News' "America's Newsroom."
"One network had no coverage and another had 15 seconds."
Instead, Daniels is "trying to profiteer" from her meeting with Trump, said Lewandowski.
"This is the same individual, who on three separate occasions, denied that anything took place, sent a statement saying nothing took place," said Lewandowski. "Now all of a sudden Donald Trump is the president of the United States and they want to have their claim to fame."
Monday marked the third-highest stock market rally, he continued, and he thinks that is "more important to people who show up to work every day."
Lewandowski said Trump has been working to be sure the United States is working in the best possible manner that it can and to make sure the military gets its biggest pay raise in years.
"I know the media wants to talk about the Stormy Daniels issue but the American people, the people who go to work every day, care zero about this," said Lewandowski.
