Corey Lewandowski on Thursday remained adamant that any deal the White House does on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) will include funding for a border wall.
The former campaign manager and loyal surrogate to President Donald Trump made the comments on Fox News' "America's Newsroom" show.
DACA "has to include the wall because without the wall, it all doesn't work. We need the wall. We have to have the wall for security purposes. Security is No. 1," Lewandowski said.
"I believe the president is completely resolved in the fact that we have to get this wall funded and built and start building it immediately. We can no longer allow individuals to come into our country and kill Americans because we can't control our borders," Lewandowski said.
"The campaign was about immigration. The president talked about it. He talked about the wall. He talked about the 2,000 miles of our southern border that need a wall. Now we're gonna go and implement that, because that is the pledge that he made and unlike other politicians, when he makes a promise, he follows through," Lewandowski said.
"And Congress, the Republicans and Democrats, have to understand — this is an issue the American people care about at an 80 percent level. They want to make sure our borders are secure and they need to now step up and join the president on this," Lewandowski said.
