Sen. Jeff Flake has been attacked from the right by conservatives bemoaning that the Arizonan "used to be one of us."
The Senate Conservatives Fund has produced a second radio ad attacking him for his unwillingness to support a government shutdown to defund the Affordable Care Act.
"Jeff Flake used to be one of us, but now he's become one of them," says the voiceover in the one-minute-long ad. "We elected Jeff Flake to fight Obamacare not accept it.
"Jeff Flake could help stop Obamacare by simply refusing to fund it," the ad goes on. "But he won't pledge to oppose all funding for Obamacare."
The ad also attacks the Senate rookie for sending out a Twitter message reading "oh, whatever" after an earlier ad attacking him for his stance.
"'Oh, whatever!' that's something we expect John McCain to say," says the ad referring to Flake's fellow Arizona senator. "The next time Jeff Flake asks for your support, tell him 'oh, whatever!'"
Flake disagrees with the idea of potentially shutting down the government as a means of obstructing healthcare reform. "I would love to defund Obamacare, but the continuing resolution is not the mechanism." he said last week at a town-hall meeting in Arizona.
Flake does not face re-election until 2018.
