As the Supreme Court begins its new term, conservative justices will be part of a changing dynamic on the court, according to a Monday Axios report.

Now that the youngest judge, Neil Gorsuch, has filled out the nine-member court, the "hard-charging conservatism" of Gorsuch would be moderated by the oldest justice, Anthony Kennedy.

Major issues the court will face include workers' rights, gerrymandering, electronic privacy, and the case of a baker who refused to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding, Axios reported.

The court is back to a full nine members with the addition of Gorsuch, who is an "active questioner," who writes his own opinions instead of joining other justices, which makes him similar to the late justice Antonin Scalia, Axios reported.

Gorsuch will have a chance to make his mark on the court with the high-profile cases that are in the works.

The wedding cake and gerrymandering cases likely will go to Kennedy as the deciding vote, according to Axios.

Immigration cases could show Gorsuch being more moderate than his reputation as a conservative would suggest, according to FiveThirtyEight.
