Democratic incumbent Sen. Chris Murphy maintains a healthy lead in his attempt to retain his Senate seat in Connecticut, holding a 56 percent to 41 percent advantage among likely voters over Republican challenger and business owner Matthew Corey, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Tuesday.
Three weeks ago, in the last Quinnipiac poll, Murphy held a similar lead of 57 percent to 42 percent.
Other results from the latest poll include:
- Murphy is ahead 96 percent to 3 percent among Democrats and 54 percent to 42 percent among independent voters, while Republicans support Corey 89 percent to 9 percent.
- Only 3 percent of Connecticut likely voters remain undecided, with only 6 percent of those who name a candidate saying they might change their mind in the next week.
The poll was conducted from October 22-28 among 1,201 Connecticut likely voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points, including the design effect.
