Another Poll Shows Hillary Beating Trump in Battleground States

A second poll released Tuesday showed Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump in three key battleground states.

Here are the results of the NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls surveying voters in Iowa, Ohio and Pennsylvania:

Iowa:

• Clinton: 41 percent.
• Trump: 37 percent.

In a race featuring the third-party candidates:

• Clinton: 35 percent.
• Trump: 35 percent.
• Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson: 12 percent.
• Green Party candidate Jill Stein: 6 percent.

Ohio:

• Clinton: 43 percent.
• Trump: 38 percent.

With third-party candidates:

• Clinton: 39 percent.
• Trump: 35 percent.
• Johnson: 12 percent.
• Stein: 4 percent.

Pennsylvania:

• Clinton: 48 percent.
• Trump: 37 percent.

Featuring third-party candidates:

• Clinton: 45 percent.
• Trump: 36 percent.
• Johnson: 9 percent.
• Jill Stein: 3 percent.

Earlier Tuesday, Quinnipiac University said that Trump and Clinton were in a virtual tie in Florida — while the Democrat was holding small leads in both Ohio and Pennsylvania.

"The convention dust has settled in these three critical battleground states," Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute of Public Opinion, told The Wall Street Journal. "Despite the national spotlight of the conventions focused on each candidate, Clinton and Trump have not made any headway in voters' positive impressions of them."

The NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls were conducted between last Wednesday and Sunday. Registered voters were sampled in each state — 899 in Iowa, 889 in Ohio and 834 in Pennsylvania.

The margins of error were 3.3 percent in Iowa and Ohio, and 3.4 percent in the Keystone State.
