The blowback from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's remarks at an abortion rally still might get him in hot water, as the Senate considers censure.

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., introduced the call to censure Sen. Schumer, D-N.Y., which was echoed in a letter from conservative leaders, according to Fox News.

Hawley had foreshadowed the move Friday in a tweet:

"Of course Schumer’s attacks were 'inappropriate' and 'wrong'! He should be CENSURED #CensureSchumer"

The remarks that got Schumer in hot water were made to push Republicans on their pro life agenda, he said, and not the two conservative Supreme Court justices nominated by President Donald Trump that he called out.

"I want to tell you, Gorsuch; I want to tell you, Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price!" Schumer warned. "You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."

Chief Justice John Roberts, the president, and conservatives rebuked Schumer's remarks.

"In no way was I making a threat," Schumer contended after the blowback.

Schumer would be just the ninth senator in history to be censured.
