Chris Matthews Takes Sen. Warren to Task for Inaction

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews laid into Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, on his "Hardball" program Thursday night, skewering her about the inability of her and her Democratic colleagues to implement any change for the nation.

Matthews wanted to know Warren’s plans to "restore the hope of a meaningful family-building employment that seems to be gone in so much of the country?"

"I’m telling you, I don’t hear you getting it done," a fired up Matthews said during their conversation about the lack of jobs and infrastructure projects in the United States. "The Democrats control the U.S. Senate. The Democrats control the White House. When are you going to do what you just said you’d like to do? Just when? Give me a date. Is it 2017, 2023?"

Warren blamed conservatives for negatively altering the economy beginning in 1980 by allowing the rich to keep more of their money at the expense of the working class. Warren pushed back when Matthews continued to rant.

"Stop it. It’s now," Warren interrupted, to which Matthews replied: "It isn’t now!"

Moments later, he accused Warren of "blaming it on the Republicans, but you control the Senate and you control the White House."
