Former Vice President Dick Cheney made an appearance on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his oldest daughter, Liz, elected to the Wyoming congressional seat he once held for 10 years.
Cheney sat on the House floor, second row from the front, according to Roll Call, and said he would not dispense advice.
"She'll do very well," Cheney said. "And if she wants my advice, she'll ask for it. And otherwise, I don't offer it."
Liz Cheney succeeds the retired Cynthia Lummis, who chose not to seek reelection for Wyoming's lone seat in the House of Representatives. Liz Cheney then defeated Democrat Ryan Greene by capturing more than 62 percent of the vote in November.
