Twitter Calls Penalty on Fiorina for Supporting Iowa Over Alma Mater

Carly Fiorina may need to change her play after sending out a tweet Friday ahead of the Rose Bowl that many people saw as pandering to Iowa voters.
Fiorina is a graduate of Stanford University, whose Cardinal football team took on the Iowa Hawkeyes, but the GOP presidential candidates indicated she'd put aside school loyalty for Iowa – home of the first caucuses on February 1.

The response was quick and harsh, including from Iowa fans who scolded her for not rooting for her own team.
Once a Stanford route was becoming obvious (the Cardinal won 45-16), Iowa fans even accused Fiorina of putting a curse on their team and started comparing her luck with rooting for the Hawkeyes to her leadership at Hewlett-Packard, from which she was fired during a corporate shakeup.
Fiorina is currently polling ninth in Iowa at 2.3 percent in the Real Clear Politics average of polls.
