The series of protests against President Donald Trump are having little effect, former Navy SEAL Carl Higbie said on Tuesday, and he's not quite sure what protesters are trying to say.
"I don't know what they are trying to get at," Higbie, a surrogate during Trump's presidential campaign, told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "They have proposed zero solutions and goals."
The protesters won't be able to throw Trump out of office, Higbie continued, and won't answer questions about what they want.
"I have asked these people on the streets, in diners, and in restaurants, what do you want?" said Higbie. "[They say] 'we're angry.' That's nice. Hit a punching bag. Get a job."
There is also no comparison between the Trump protesters and tea party protesters, he continued, because there were only a few arrests, but "we came out with solutions we want budget resolutions and certain policies."
But the protests, like Monday's "Not My President's Day" marches are "ridiculous" and "not productive," but instead are destructive, as property is being damaged.
Higbie also spoke out about comments made by Corey Lewandowski, Trump's first campaign manager, who said on Monday that Trump's staff has been ineffective so far because of their lack of experience.
"A lot of people are saying Donald Trump has a lot to learn about the way Washington works," said Higbie, but instead, "Washington has a lot to learn about the way Donald Trump and his administration is going to work. They are reinventing the wheel on this. This is a good thing."
