Sen. Brown: Kerry Would Make Great Secretary of State

By    |   Friday, 02 November 2012 03:51 PM EDT

Republican Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown believes his Democratic counterpart, Sen. John Kerry, would make a great Secretary of State.

“He’s a good man, and I have a lot of respect for him,” Brown told the Boston Herald Friday. "I consider John a good friend."

Brown told the Herald that Kerry's work on a new nuclear-arms treaty with Russia was "phenomenal."

The comments came despite Kerry campaigning for Brown’s opponent, Democrat Elizabeth Warren.

Kerry has endorsed Warren in the tight Senate race — and he will stump for her on Monday and on Election Day.

“Sen. Kerry is an enthusiastic endorser and has been a big supporter and given me lots of good advice and shown up at events with me,” Warren told the Herald during a campaign stop on Thursday.
