Former Homeland Security adviser Tom Bossert on Sunday took a swipe at President Donald Trump for not wearing a mask in public despite health experts and his own coronavirus advisory team recommending the practice.

In an interview on ABC News’ “This Week,” Bossert called wearing a mask “common decency.”

“Do as I say not as I do isn’t very useful,” he said.

Trump on Thursday said he took off his mask during a tour of a Ford plant in Michigan because he "didn’t want to give the press the pleasure" of seeing him with one on.

Bossert also advised the practice be especially practiced as Americans celebrate Memorial Day weekend.

"Instead of focusing on what you can't do this weekend, a couple things you should do: Wear a mask — it's common decency,” he said.

“Pray and think about those that passed in our former wars ... and also those who've passed in the last three months…. and then make sure you remember to wash your hands and remain socially distant, even though the shelter-in-place orders have been lifted,” he said.
