A banner stretched over the Staten Island Expressway on Tuesday showed New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt while holding the bloody, decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty.
“It’s what he’s doing to New York. He’s severing the head of the greatest city on earth,” Scott LoBaido, the artist who created the banner, told The New York Post.
The Staten Island resident made the banner after de Blasio allowed the Black Lives Matter protests to rip through the city.
LoBaido, who is a Trump supporter, said he painted a blue line in front of the 122nd Precinct in New Dorp on Monday as a show of support for the New York Police Department. That blue line was later painted over with "Black Lives Matter" soon after.
“That thin blue line separates anarchy from civilization,” he told The Post.
“New York has turned into a sh–hole because of this guy,” LoBaido said of the mayor. “He hates the true New Yorkers: police officers, firefighters… people who built this city.”
