Bill Clinton to Stump for Blanche Lincoln

Tuesday, 25 May 2010 09:08 PM EDT

Former President Bill Clinton will be campaigning for Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s re-election in Arkansas Friday in the latest desperate bid to save her career, according to The New York Times.

Clinton will appear at a rally in Little Rock as Lincoln campaigns for the Democratic Senate primary run-off.

The campaign was moving “full speed ahead” in the two-week showdown with Bill Halter, the state’s lieutenant governor, according to Lincoln’s spokesman, and the presence of Arkansas’ most famous politician cannot hurt.

Clinton has long supported Lincoln, but the visit on Friday marks his first personal entry into the race. He is scheduled to appear with the two-term senator at Philander Smith College in Little Rock.

Read the rest of the story in The New York Times.
