During a press conference, Vice President Joe Biden gave a joking response to a question about Donald Trump being the presumptive Republican nominee for president.
In the
NBC News video, a questioner asked him for any comments "about Trump being the nominee."
Biden responded, "I'm anticipating he'll ask me to be vice president."
As other panelists and the audience laughed, Biden said, "I have nothing serious to say." The vice president and Trump will be appearing together May 15, but not for political reasons.
Both are set to attend a graduation ceremony at the University of Pennsylvania, according to
Action News WPVI-TV.
The Republican candidate's daughter Tiffany Trump and the vice president's granddaughter Naomi Biden are both graduating that day.
Biden has weighed in on Trump before, saying, "I feel very strongly that he should not be president," during an appearance on the TV show "Extra," according to
The Hill.
