Former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey claims Hillary Clinton — mired in a scandal over her use of a private email server as secretary of state — has blown most of her presidential campaign money on spin doctors and lawyers.
Responding to a report that the former secretary of state has forked out 90 percent of the money she's raised in her 2016 presidential bid, McCaughey on Friday told
Newsmax TV's J.D. Hayworth on "Newsmax Prime":
"The reason is she's not getting any earned media — television, radio and print appearances based on her policies — is all of her unpaid media is about the bad story of her constant deceptions, especially regarding her emails.
"So she's spending on this money on spin masters and on lawyers and on preparation for testimony when she should be out there delivering her policy messages. This is a campaign in real trouble."

The Washington Post reports that Clinton "spent around nine out of every 10 dollars she raised in the third quarter."
She raised more than $28 million and spent an estimated $24.8 million, "for a burn rate of about 88.7 percent, based on early numbers released by her campaign," The Post said.
