Wall Street has long viewed Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., as the Antichrist, but former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein went out and said Sanders would be Russia's best shot to "screw up the U.S."
Blankfein tweeted after Sanders' primary victory in New Hampshire:
"If Dems go on to nominate Sanders, the Russians will have to reconsider who to work for to best screw up the US. Sanders is just as polarizing as Trump AND he'll ruin our economy and doesn't care about our military. If I'm Russian, I go with Sanders this time around."
Sanders is a self-proclaimed Democratic-socialist and has vowed to take on Wall Street and wealthy corporations. He and Pete Buttigieg, who has accepted campaign funding from wealthy donors on Wall Street, are currently leading the Democratic presidential primary delegate count after Iowa and New Hampshire.
Blankfein's references to Russia are tongue in check with the Democratic claims Russia supported President Donald Trump in the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton to damage the U.S. as the world's leading power.
