The presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is touting over 300 endorsements from California as it seeks to ramp up support ahead of the March 3 primary.
The campaign released endorsements from 40 elected officials, more than 80 community leaders and more than 200 academics in California, where polls show a tight race, The Hill reported.
The Hill noted the latest endorsements builds on 86 earlier nods to Sanders from union groups and other local officials.
The rollout came ahead of a rally on Saturday that Sanders held with freshman firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., in Los Angeles.
California is one of several states to hold primaries and caucuses on Super Tuesday; it’s set to allocate 495 delegates, The Hill noted.
According to a polling average by Real Clear Politics, Biden leads with 21.2% , Sanders with 21% and Warren with 19.6%.
