UNH Poll: Sanders, Biden Lead Field of '20 Dems in NH

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., holds a close lead over former Vice President Joe Biden in a New Hampshire Democratic primary survey.

Key results in the Granite State Poll, released by the University of New Hampshire:

Democratic primary:

  • 26 percent of New Hampshire adults said they would vote for Sanders in the primary when provided a list of candidates from which to choose.

  • 22 percent said they would vote for former Vice President Joe Biden, who has yet to announce his candidacy for president for the 2020 race.

  • Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., garnered 10 percent support.

  • Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has 7 percent support.

  • 5 percent would vote for former Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-Texas.

  • 14 percent are undecided.

  • 31 percent said Biden is the most likable Democratic candidate, followed by Sanders at 20 percent.

  • 32 percent said Biden would be the most likely candidate to win the general election over President Donald Trump.

Republican primary:

  • 57 percent of New Hampshire adults said they are still trying to decide who they will support in the Republican primary next year.

  • 56 percent said they will vote for Trump, while 15 percent plan to vote for another candidate.

  • In a hypothetical matchup between former Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld, Trump has 68 percent support, Kasich has 17 percent support, and Weld has 3 percent backing.
