Breitbart News executive Stephen Bannon on Wednesday took a poke at his former White House boss — and warned President Donald Trump not to “get on the wrong side” of his populist base.
Taking a victory lap after Roy Moore’s convincing Alabama primary win over GOP Sen. Luther Strange — who Trump endorsed —the former chief strategist touted the results during an interview on “Breitbart News Daily.”
“Victory begets victory, as we always say at Breitbart,” Bannon said. “So another big victory for this audience.”
“What, we’re 6-0?” he added, referring to special elections. “We’re 6-0 – we won in November – I think we’re 6-0 in these elections. President Trump is 5-1. Oops! Did I say that?”
Turning serious, Bannon gave the president some unsolicited advice.
“Do not get on the wrong side of the football of your base,” he said. “Listen to the people.”
