President Joe Biden's stance on immigration at the U.S. border is already having an effect, according to Art Del Cueto, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, on Newsmax TV.
"We're definitely already seeing the impact when it comes to the illegal traffic that's coming in and a lot of the areas," Del Cueto told Tuesday's "American Agenda."
"What happened is in the areas where there was new wall constructed, and in areas where the wall was constructed in a better way, we saw tremendous amount of the numbers drop because of that extra deterrent. Now, not only do the numbers drop when it comes to illegal entries, but what happens is the number of apprehensions cannot go higher because it gives agents enough time to go to those areas and be able to make the arrest."
According to Del Cueto, "What we are already seeing, specifically down in the Tucson sector already, is that in areas where there's hardly much of a barrier, specifically on that Tohono O'odham Reservation, which is a Native American reservation, the numbers are going off astronomically higher.
"And at the same time, what is crazy is these individuals that are being detained are specifically saying that they're here because they have hopes that during the new administration, they'll be able to claim some type of amnesty or some type of legality to be here."
