Rep. Arrington to Newsmax TV: Biden Hypocrisy Showing in Border Free-for-All

President Joe Biden is showing his hypocrisy with the” free-for-all” at the U.S.-Mexico border, says Rep. Jodey Arrington, R-Texas,

“President Biden doesn’t mind putting restrictions and mandates on his citizens, but meanwhile there’s this free for all policy at the border and it’s costing millions of dollars to the citizens of Texas and other border state communities and it’s just not the drugs and crime and the humanitarian crisis,” Arrington said Wednesday during an appearance on Newsmax TV’s “Chris Salcedo Show.”

“It’s also a public health risk and he doesn’t seem to care too much about it unless folks like you and members of Congress, including my friend from Laredo, who’s a Democrat saying, ‘this is foolhardy to think you can just lift the floodgates up without testing or screening and think you’re not going to spread COVID throughout the country.’”

More than 100 illegal immigrants released by the Border Patrol into Texas since late January have tested positive for COVID-19 following their arrival, according to officials who spoke with Fox News.

Biden started unraveling the Trump administration’s hardline immigration policies as soon as he took office. Illegal border crossings climbed in January, with more than 75,000 arrested, an increase of 6 percent from the prior month. The pace of crossings, according to Deputy Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz, appeared to accelerate after Biden took office on Jan. 20. Additionally, the number of migrant children crossing the southern border this year is on pace to exceed an all-time record, by 45 percent, according to date from the Department of Homeland Security.
