The business manager of former presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson was booed at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network Convention when he declared "everything in America is not about race."
The Christian Post reports that the jeers aimed at Armstrong Williams came as he discussed politics during an address at the Sheraton Times Square in New York City.
"I've found over time there's really not much difference between Republicans and Democrats when it comes to everyday people," he said. "You sit here. You hear the race speeches because they feel that's what you want to hear. Everything in America is not always about race."
The crowd booed, but Williams continued.
"I will say it again. Everything in America when it comes to achievement and accomplishment and success is not about race … You know, I don't mind the boos because I'm used to it."
