Apple Inc. has told Republican Party officials that it will not contribute financially or in any other way to the next month's convention in Cleveland because of Donald Trump's incendiary remarks about Hispanics, women and other groups.

Citing "two sources familiar with the iPhone maker’s plans," Politico reported Saturday that Apple's decision was "communicated privately to Republicans."

The company's decision also differs from that of Google, Facebook and Microsoft, who will provide some services to the four-day convention at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Neither Apple, a Trump spokeswoman nor the Republican National Committee commented for the report.

However, a spokeswoman for the convention's host committee in Cleveland told Politico: "We are working with a variety of major tech partners who are focused on being part of the American political process."

Trump has bashed Silicon Valley throughout his yearlong campaign for the nomination, but he has specifically called for a boycott of Apple products and has attacked CEO Tim Cook for the company's position on encryption, according to the report.

Politico reported Apple's plans for the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, coming a week after the GOP event, remained unclear.
