Amazon's ties to Washington, D.C., will extend beyond The Washington Post, after it has hired the brother of a top Joe Biden adviser to lobby for the company.
Amazon has hired registered lobbyist Jeff Ricchetti, who co-founded a lobbying firm with brother Steve Ricchetti, who was tapped Nov. 16 to serve in the Biden White House, according to CNBC.
Just days before, Jeff Ricchetti registered with Congress as a lobbyist for Amazon "issues related to COVID-19, including implementation of the CARES Act."
On the same date, Jeff Ricchetti signed a lobbying agreement for a biotech company that is developing an oral coronavirus vaccine, Vaxart.
Vaxart is under a federal investigation for falsely claiming to be a part of the Trump administration's Operation Warp Speed, according to the report.
Steve Ricchetti, a deputy chief of staff under the Clinton administration and Biden's chief of staff when he was vice president, reportedly helped Clinton lobby Congress for a controversial trade deal with China, according to The Daily Caller.
