The Anti-Defamation League believes there was an uptick in anti-Semitic remarks directed at senior adviser to President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, last week stemming from an alleged West Wing squabble and Trump's decision to attack Syria.

The ADL wrote Monday that there were more than 300,000 mentions of Kushner in an anti-Semitic way on Twitter over the last week. The organization surmises that both the military action in Syria, which Kushner supported, and reports about disagreements he's been having with chief White House strategist Steve Bannon are to blame.

"This campaign of anti-Semitism has been driven by white supremacists and anti-Semites and has all the hallmarks of classic Jewish conspiracy theories," the ADL wrote. "The narratives include accusations that Jews in the Trump Administration are trying to start a war to advance the interests of Israel.

"They contend that Trump has abandoned his 'America First' policy, which the alt right supported, because he is being manipulated by Kushner and other Jewish advisors."

The report lists several Twitter hashtags that have been used toward Kushner, including #firekushner and #kushneratwar.

Kushner is Jewish and is the president's son-in-law. Critics over the last week, including David Duke, said Kushner's backing of the missile attack on Syria showed he is demonstrating favoritism toward Israel.
