The U.S. Supreme Court may be poised to reestablish the importance of the freedoms of expression and religion, as guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution, in a series of cases that could appear on the docket for the coming term.
Each new term of the Supreme Court convenes on the first Monday of October, following its summer recess. The next begins on Oct. 2.
