As aging government infrastructure, surveillance cameras, and computer systems grow more outdated at both state and federal levels, the problems are continuing to pile up, creating little-noticed obstacles that end up affecting the lives of millions of Americans.

Inside the majestic-looking exterior of the White House, employees have described the historic West Wing as such a cramped space, it's akin to "working in a submarine."
