Close the Elementary School Door on Sex Ed

Nothing quite grabs your attention like seeing the word "sex."

It’s a natural impulse to stop and pay attention.

In marketing (broadcast, online, and in print) sex has been known to sell.

Sex is interjected in many places for a variety of reasons.

There's one place however, where sex does not belong, and that is in elementary school classrooms.

The powerful, maximum force effort, to introduce sexual concepts to little kids as early as kindergarten is terrifying.

Children at that age are not only the most impressionable, hopeful, and optimistic members of our society  they are also our most vulnerable.

There's nothing quite as pure and wonderful as the innocence of childhood. When faced with a calamity, we’ve probably found ourselves saying, "Oh I wish I could just be a kid again."

Asking a child to explore gender classifications before they even know how to ride a bike is nonsensical, and frankly it's creepy. Public school administrators should never force teachers to deliver lesson plans about about explicit sexual acts to fifth graders.

This all may sound like sensationalist exaggeration.

Let's face it, if an elementary school teacher mentioned let alone taught about the concept of certain sex acts just a few years ago there would be a tumultuous uproar; the police would have been called.)

Sadly, this  is exactly what education administrators from the state of New Jersey are planning on rolling out this fall.

The same curriculum would force teachers to teach second graders how to identify various types of reproductive organs. Let's not forget, most children in the second grade are seven years old.

Deceitful opportunists have attempted to conflate this issue with LBGTQ+ rights.

We need to make one thing clear; that is, that discrimination against anyone identifying as LGBTQ or any sexual orientation, should never be tolerated and must be condemned.

Everyone in this country should be treated equally, fairly, and with respect.

But someone please explain to this writer how requiring second graders to identify different forms of  reproductived organs, using post it notes is a tribute to New York's Stonewall Riots of June-July 1969?

Moreover, the idea that an adult should support or oppose the policy of teachers implementing a sex ed curriculum for children as young as five based on their personal sexual identity is simply beyond ludicrous.

Someone objecting to a five-year-old having to decide if they are gay, straight, or something else doesn’t make them a bigot. Nonsense.

Let’s stop letting people with radical and bizarre ideas pass themselves off as civil rights activists.

A bill introduced in New York would mandate that children in kindergarten receive sex education and third graders must be taught about hormone blockers.

Concurrently, polls show a strong majority of Americans oppose teaching gender identity to students below the fourth grade.

Some fringe but well-organized and determined special interest groups have never burdened themselves with what American families actually want or what they deem important for their children.

At a show in California recently, young kids are shown dancing alongside adult performers while collecting money from the audience.

We are living in an age where powerful elites are bent on sexualizing children and introducing adult concepts to them at a very early age.

You’ll often hear high school sex education advocates claim that teenagers learning about sex can reduce teen pregnancy.

Children are not adults, they are not teenagers; consequently they are not thinking about sex or dating — nor should they be.

Children are busy worried about NORAD reporting on Santa’s whereabouts or fantasizing about flying to the moon or discovering new planets before their next birthday.

While it’s also sadly true that too many children are thinking about going to school hungry or without the books or other learning materials that they need, politicians will jump like jack rabbits to defend extravagant spending on other programs of dubious value to our children.

We shouldn’t be surprised at this reaction since it’s much easier to virtue signal than to find out why money isn’t getting to our students and classrooms.

Adults should be free to embrace their sexuality as they see fit and live their lives accordingly. Children on the other hand should enjoy being children and the innocence associated with their age.

Teaching children about sex will not make them happier nor will it make them safer.
