GOP Must Deliver New Message On Biden Economy — Now

govt tricks with taxpayer money

The Biden administration is rolling out a radical economic agenda that is outright hostile to the creation of new high paying jobs.

With each new executive order comes a varied form of economic misery for all of us below the one percent.

The April jobs report is another indication that we are not returning to Trump era economic prosperity any time soon.

Our economic malaise is only being worsened by the job killing fiats of an administration that likely gets its economic policy primarily from Big Tech billionaires who are unaffected by prices at the supermarket or the gas pump.

The GOP needs to seize this moment and stand up for working-class middle-class families in America. Unfortunately, with President Donald J. Trump out of the White House, the GOP seems to be getting its economic messaging largely from Chamber of Commerce talking points.

While it’s certainly possible that some people are not actively seeking reentry into the workforce because they are receiving government benefits, this is hardly the "missing link" in returning to a thriving economy.

A recent study by Bank of America economists Michelle Meyer, Joseph Song, and Anna Zhou found that only those making less than $32,000 a year (a figure which is lower than half the U.S. median income) would be better off collecting unemployment benefits, and only in the very short term.

We can go back and forth about how many of those prospective workers are reluctant to re-enter the job market but does anyone truly believe that the biggest problem with our economy is not enough low paying jobs being filled, instead of the radical anti-economic development policies of the Biden administration?

The GOP needs to start focusing on the economic suffering of American families and offer immediate solutions to help them and create lots of new well-paying jobs.

Here are three policies the GOP must start promoting immediately:

Re-open All of Our Public Schools Now: Earlier this month we found out that a powerful teachers union lobbied the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) (White House officials were copied on the e-mails) to modify language that would have encouraged public schools resuming full in person learning.

We already know about the devastating effects that keeping schools closed is having on our children. What few people are discussing is the crushing impact that closed schools is having on small businesses.

Many small business owners are moms and dads too, with young kids in public schools.

A friend of mine "Tom" is a small business owner, his wife "Maria" is in the healthcare field, Maria does not make a lot of money but they rely on her employer's comprehensive healthcare coverage.

Tom can’t open his business on many of the days which schools are closed because he has to stay home with their children. He’s had to make a huge transition from having full-time employees to part-time or "on call" workers.

When it comes to small business, the myth of the rich independent consultant with a nanny, a housekeeper, and a chef needs to be dispensed with the all-too-common reality of a man or woman struggling to balance the obligations of their business with the needs of their family, often one bad week away from not meeting payroll or having to shut down for good.

Low Fuel Prices Are a Good Thing: The American people elected Joe Biden president. They did not vote to ban cars. Spiking fuel prices are bad for almost every facet of the economy. The more money consumers pay at the gas pump the less money they have to spend on other sectors supporting the economy.

Unpredictable fuel costs not only prevent companies from hiring new workers, they also hurt productivity at all other levels.

Republicans must spend a lot more time discussing whether the Biden administration insanely believes that outrageously high fuel costs are good for the economy, or that they are more afraid of offending their Hollywood mega-donor base than wrecking the economy.

Fight For Free But FAIR Trade: There's nothing "free" about one-sided foolhardy trade agreements costing Americans millions of jobs. President Trump was right about reviving domestic manufacturing. A thriving manufacturing sector creates stabile higher-paying jobs.

The Biden administration has already signaled that it will not aggressively protect American manufacturing jobs.

Administration officials indicated that they may join a new rendition of the disastrous Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) that both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump opposed as candidates in 2016.

Many manufacturers won’t keep jobs here let alone create new ones if they can easily relocate them to countries permitting deplorable labor standards or worse — slave labor.

The Biden administration is dominated by proponents of bizarre anti-economic growth policies that are going to dramatically lower the standard of living in the United States for generations.

The GOP needs to offer a compelling alternative vision — now.
