Progressivism Grows Crime, Not Opportunity

The surge in horrific crimes nationally is a direct result of the "new normal" championed by progressives and rammed down our throats during the height of the pandemic.

Progressives quickly realized that the crisis was an opportunity to permanently transform American society. Unfortunately for progressives, as Americans unite (both Democrats and Republicans ) and rise up against their insane social science experiments, it seems that the most prominent lasting legacy of "woke" politicians will be a national onslaught of tragic crimes.

The widespread domestic onset of "defund the police" movements, bail "reform," which emptied our jails, as well as the the institutional vilification of law enforcement professionals, has reaped a bitter harvest of deadly crime.

Most tragically, it's young children who have become new casualties in the radical Left’s war against law and order.

Five children were shot in Detroit last week, two died.

Brison Christian was coming back home from baseball practice with his family, when he and his nine-year-old brother B.J., were shot in the backseat of their car.. B.J. was treated at a local hospital and released. Brison was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Brison Christian was just two-years-old.

Last July in Brooklyn, Davell Gardner Jr., just months shy of his second birthday was shot dead by gang members with long rap-sheets.

A few weeks ago in Queens, New York, 10-year-old Justin Wallace was shot dead inside his home. A few days ago, a hit man in the Bronx shot a man several times in broad daylight in the middle of a busy street as he cowered between two young siblings he stumbled into while attempting to flee.

While progressives may earnestly believe that the hit man is a misunderstood product of a harsh society, the truth is that the gunman is a soulless hardened criminal, arrested for a shooting in 2014, convicted for attempted assault and conspiracy in 2015, serving two years before being paroled.

In 2012 he was convicted of weapons possession.

In Baltimore, Maryland 57 people have been murdered in the last 50 days ,

Murder is up in almost 72 cities nationwide, according to Jeff Asher, a data analyst for AH Datalytics. A few days ago, Arvada, Colorado Police announced that they discovered a previously written four-page later by Ronald Troyke, denouncing and threatening police officers.

On Monday, Troyke fired into a crowd in Arvada and murdered police officer Gordon Beesly as well as causing the death of good Samaritan John Hurley.

Last week in Chicago, after attending the Puerto Rican Day Parade, a couple was dragged out of their car, beaten, and shot to death in front of dozens of onlookers.

The couple leaves behind two young children.

Murder on the highway, at a public park, inside the victim’s home, on a public street, shooting in between little kids next to the victim, murdering a police officer or a good samaritan.

The real and grotesque result of the "new normal" heralded by progressives is that depraved criminals understand that powerful politicians will fight for them, not for their victims.

Politicians owned by the radical Left will doubtlessly roll out the tired platitudes about the scourge of "gun violence" and ask for more gun control even though some of the most dangerous cities in America have the strictest gun control laws in the nation.

According to the New York City Police Department, last week an individual alerted transit police after being threatened by a man with a knife on the subway.

Police swiftly apprehended the suspect, the same man who had been released without bail on charges of attempted murder three weeks before the knife incident.

Another man in New York was arrested for a stabbing spree that killed one and severely injured two others, this same man had been arrested for threatening his own mother with a knife in March and of course was promptly released without bail!

Public sentiment across all political ideologies may finally be coming back in favor of law and order. In a crowded and well-funded field of candidates in the New York City Democratic Mayoral Primary, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams received 31% of first choice votes from voters, putting him far ahead of the rest of the pack.

One of Adams’ central campaign themes was focusing on public safety and refusing to defund the police. Fighting crime and preventing dangerous felons from harming innocent people should not stir controversy — at any time.

Communists, Libertarians, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents can and should favor an aggressive approach to fighting crime.

The absurd notion that we should help violent felons escape justice because sometimes police officers make mistakes must be dispensed with — now.

No, we can't avoid all tragedies, but advocating for respectful treatment law enforcement, doing our best to ensure their departments are more than adequately funded; focusing on preventing crimes and helping victims, repealing idiotic bail "reform," all constitute an agenda that will actually help both Democrats and Republicans running for elected office.
