Republicans are poised to win big in 2014 because of strong candidates, redistricting, and the unraveling of the Affordable Care Act, says Grover Norquist, president of the influential Americans for Tax Reform.
"Republicans should pick up seats," Norquist told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"Thirty-nine very frightened Democratic congressmen voted with the Republicans [on the keep-your-insurance bill] . . . a slap in the face to [President Barack] Obama . . . They said we want the world to see we are not with you on this one."

"And now you look in the Senate and there are seven Democrats stuck running for office for the Senate in very Republican states, likely to lose those seven seats. And then there are other seats . . . Michigan, Iowa, New Hampshire, where there's a good shot a Republican could take a Democratic seat now."
Norquist said that other than in Georgia, there are no seriously challenged Republicans around the country at this stage.
"So, the Republicans will hold the House and have a very high likelihood of winning the Senate in 2014," he predicted.
Norquist thinks Obama has lost power during his presidency because of inept decisions.
"He has governed so poorly, his [approval] numbers are so bad . . . the approval of his healthcare legislation is so poor in terms of . . . support that he can't demand or bully," he said.
