Rep. Roger Williams, R-Texas, told Newsmax on Monday that President Donald Trump's nominee to head national intelligence "absolutely" will be confirmed by the Senate, possibly this week.
The Senate this week is set to vote on whether to advance the nomination of former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard to serve as director of national intelligence, with the final vote possibly coming on Tuesday night, according to Roll Call.
When asked on "Newsline" if Gabbard will be confirmed by the Senate this week, Williams said, "I absolutely do think she will."
He added that all of Trump's nominees will get through the Senate, saying, "All his requests are going to get approved there."
Williams said, "The Democrats are taking their time, but it's all politics, and I believe she'll get approved."
The congressman went on to praise Trump's first few weeks in office, saying, "Trump is doing exactly what he said he was going to do" during his campaign.
Williams added, "I think it's just fantastic what he's done. He's done everything he said he'd do, and that's driving the left crazy. But they are certainly the minority right now, and they're unhinged and unorganized. And we are proceeding on a pathway of greatness to this country."
