Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay on Tuesday praised the Supreme Court for its 5-4 decision to uphold President Donald Trump's travel ban, telling Newsmax TV the justices "made their decision without pulling in politics."
"The whole notion that a candidate campaigning and his words could be tied to a constitutional review by the Supreme Court is just ridiculous," DeLay, the former Texas Republican congressman who was majority leader from 2003 to 2005, told "Newsmax Now" host John Bachman.
"I was very happy to see that the Supreme Court decided on the law, on the statement itself, the executive order, and made their decision without pulling in politics."

"That's what's going on here," DeLay continued. "The people who resist Trump are going to try to use the courts as much as they can to resist Trump and embarrass him.
"At least, this time, the Supreme Court stood on constitutional grounds and principles and rejected the activist courts below them."
