As the mainstream media tries to point the finger at President Donald Trump's rhetoric for last week's domestic terror and political violence, it is the media that needs to look at itself as the root cause, because it has "glorified" political violence for decades, Steven Rogers told Newsmax TV.
"When you look at where our society has been and where it's going: Decades of violence, on TV, on radio, in our music, in the newspapers," Rogers, a former member of the FBI joint terror task force, told Monday's "America Talks Live."
"All of this violence being headed to generations and generations of Americans."

Rogers said blaming President Trump's rhetoric is "nonsense," because it is the violence in media that helps trigger the lone wolf outbursts of terror.
"Never seen it in my lifetime as I see it today," Rogers told hosts John Cardillo and Dr. Gina Loudon. "I go back to the fact that years and years of violence – people see movies today where people assault women, assault cops, and you do see movies today where there is political violence that's glorified.
"There's music today where political violence is glorified. So, my point is that when we look at this political violence, we must remember that a lot of this 'food,' if you will, into these imbalanced, mentally ill people is the trigger point."
