Senators who followed Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle around at this week's Republican National Convention and berated her for her agency's actions during the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump should have acted more professionally, Mike Sapraicone, a GOP Senate candidate from New York, said Thursday on Newsmax's "National Report."
"Cheatle has to be held accountable for what she did, but you don't hold her in the hallway of the RNC or wherever they may have been yelling and screaming and acting like children," Sapraicone said, adding that President Joe Biden should have spoken with her.
Sapraicone, a former New York City Police detective, added he does not want to play "Monday morning quarterback" with the Secret Service, but Congress and Americans need the "right answers" about what happened Saturday during an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
