Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's main debate objective should be to "just put her on defense and make her try and defend her record; she won't be able to," Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told Newsmax on Saturday.
"Stick to her record in office," Johnson told "America Right Now." "Her record in office is miserable.
"And let her sink herself. I'm not sure how can she explain her failure. How can she get around saying that she proposed price controls, when we know they never work. They reduce the supply of goods and generally lead to higher inflation.
"Her economic policies make no sense."
Tuesday's debate with Trump and Harris will be a "high-stakes event," Johnson told host Tom Basile.
Johnson recommended Trump push Harris on being the failed "border czar."
"Remember she was the border czar, as much as she wants to disclaim that title now, and their open border has been a disaster for this country, particularly for people at the lower end of the income scale who are now competing with jobs with illegal immigrants," Johnson concluded.
"And the cost to our economies of supporting these illegal immigrants runs in the billions, tens, if not hundreds of billions of dollars a year."
