Brexit Leader Nigel Farage to Newsmax TV: US-UK Relationship 'Hugely' Matters

By    |   Monday, 15 February 2021 08:31 PM EST

There might be hope for the United States relationship with the United Kingdom under President Joe Biden, according to Brexit Party Leader Nigel Farage on Newsmax TV.

A strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, Farage had been concerned about U.S.-U.K. relations under Biden.

"I was really fearful that with Trump gone, we'd see the relationship go down the tubes, basically," Farage told host Greg Kelly on Monday’s "Greg Kelly Reports."

"One thing that has changed since Biden came into office is that the [European Union], the globalists in Brussels, are making such a mess of everything that maybe, just maybe, we can keep some sort of transatlantic relationship going."

Farage stressed the U.S.-U.K. bond needs to remain strong regardless of who is in the White House.

"The transatlantic relationship matters.  It matters hugely," he said. "We are the biggest foreign investor in the USA. The USA is the biggest foreign investor in the UK. We are the two big players, albeit we're a bit smaller than you, but we're the two big players in NATO.

"We're the two countries that fought together and without us, Nazism wouldn't have been defeated. So, this relationship is very important."

Great Britain officially left the European Union on Dec. 31 after a narrow vote to leave the bloc in June 2016.
