Two-term Arkansas Democratic Sen. Blanche Lincoln has tried positioning herself as a moderate going into her re-election bid, voting against reconciliation on healthcare reform last week, but a new Rasmussen poll shows that might not be enough to get her another term.
The poll shows Lincoln trailing all of her four potential Republican rivals, which Rasmussen attributes to Arkansas voters’ unwillingness to forgive her for voting procedurally to move the president’s healthcare plan forward.
The Rasmussen poll found 60 percent of Arkansas voters believe the newly passed healthcare reform law is bad for the country. This caused her to walk an uneasy line on healthcare reform that has angered both sides of the debate. Lincoln’s overall unfavorable stands at 61 percent, which almost mirrors where Arkansas voters stand in opposition to healthcare reform.
Forty-three percent place her in the “very” unfavorable category.
