Cellphone video reported widely on national media purports to show the New York City attacker after his rented truck crashed, but before he was shot by police.
In the video, apparently shot through a window, the man, dressed in dark clothing appears to run around in circles before leaving the area. He later was shot in the leg by police officers. Initial reports indicated he was brandishing what ended up being a paintball gun and a BB gun.
At least eight people were killed and more than 12 wounded when the suspect ran a rented truck into a bicycle lane, hitting pedestrians and bike riders.
Officials are describing it as a terrorist attack.
