A conservative reporter and a producer had their Twitter accounts suspended after making jokes that were initially found in violation of the social media site’s rules, The Daily Caller reports.
Jeremy Boreing, the executive producer of The Ben Shapiro Show, was suspended after he told people who like Brussels sprouts to “burn your face off… because even that would be better than Brussels sprouts.”
Twitter restored Boreing’s account about two hours after it was suspended.
“Upon appeal, my joke about not eating leafy green vegetables was determined to be a joke about not eating leafy green vegetables. Thanks for the kindness, all. And thanks for the quick correction, @jack,” Boreing tweeted on Thursday.
NewsBusters reporter Nicholas Fondacaro had his account locked after he mocked CNN anchor Don Lemon for appearing drunk on New Year’s Eve.
Twitter ruled that this “promoted violence against, threatened, or harassed other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.”
The company informed Fondacaro that his account would be unsuspended if he deleted the tweet.
